Kindergarten

Dear Kailenn,
Today is your first day of Kindergarten. I can't believe it's finally that time. I have loved watching you delight in every new milestone and accomplishment you have achieved and this is just another one of those. I still remember all your first's like they happened only yesterday. I remember the first steps you took and of course the first time you said "mama". God blessed me with you a bit sooner than expected but that's ok. We have grown together through these nearly six years. I look forward to many more firsts. Including the day you graduate from high school. The day you graduate college, your first love. The greatest joy will be watching you some day write a letter just like this one to your very own daughter. I love you Kailenn and I thank the Lord everyday for such a wonderful daughter you are. Have a great first day of school.

Love,
Mommy

Daddy come back

Matt headed back to work this morning and no one in the house was happy. As sad it is to see him leave I know he is doing it for his family. Today has been a mess from the start. I think the littlest ones in the house are getting sick. Hailey screamed the entire night as did Danica as well. Danica also woke up with a fever, great! All I can say is if these kids get sick I don't know what I am going to do.
On a good note! Kailenn has kindergarten orientation tomorrow evening. Oh boy are we excited for back to school. Although we will never get there if the twins are indeed getting sick.
Yesterday we picked up an older kitten and she is just the sweetest. While I am typing this she is laying in my lap. Jasmine won't do that. She fits so well into our hectic house. All of the girls are enjoying her too, especially the no scratching part. Jasmine has really gotten bad with scratching the kids. The only thing we are not too excited about is toilet training another cat. Eek that was not a fun process to go through, but as we know totally worth it. My biggest reason for toilet training our cats is I hate cat litter and litter boxes. This shall be the most exciting 3 weeks ever with Matthew being gone. Matthew we need you more than you'll ever know. I've come to realize that in the almost 3 years of marriage it's really hard to be alone anymore. We love you daddy!

"No Poo"

Well here it is, I haven't "shampood my hair in 10 days. Yes you heard me 10 days. I have on the other hand washed my hair. I am trying something new to help with my itchy scalp. I have to say so far it's going GREAT! My hair is soft, shiny and the best thing it's not itchy any more. I am choosing to do this because of the harsh chemicals in shampoo and how it strips your hair of the natural oils that cleanse it. Using shampoo of sets the natural balance of oils and causes your body to make more oil thus making it harder to go longer without shampooing your hair. There is also the inexpensive reason to do it. It just doesn't cost much!

Here is how I do it:
The wash is made up of baking soda and water. I take one cup of warm water to 1 tblsp baking soda. Mix it up till it dissolves. Then for the conditioner I use the vinegar. I like to use both white and apple cider. I do one cup of water and mix in 1tbsp of apple cider vinegar and 1 tbsp white.
If you prefer a smell add a few drops of essential oil, honey, or lemon juice to the vinegar mixture. Do not worry once your hair is rinsed and dryed you will not smell the vinegar.

When you get in the shower get your hair wet just like you would if you were showering. Then proceed with pouring the baking soda mixture in your hair. Rub it in real well and focus on rubbing the scalp, working it into the ends. Now it wont lather like shampoo but trust me your hair is getting clean. Leave the mixture on your hair for a bit while you wash something else. Come back and rinse it all out real well. After you've rinsed pour the vinegar on your hair and do the same. I like to leave it on a bit longer than the baking soda! After you've let it sit, rinse and your done.

I hope others try this out as I think it is very beneficial to your health. :) Happy hair cleaning.

Daddy we miss you

It's been 10 days since Matt left to work. He is doing an extra harvest season this year. Though we need the money, we sure do miss the man in our life. Our house is full of tears and frustration. Its not easy taking care of 3 children all by yourself not to mention twins. The babies began teething the day Matt left. Their top two teeth are coming in and are not making things easy. Their constant crying coupled with Kailenn acting out is making this momma a worn out one. Teething isn't the only thing going on in our lives right now. Kailenn is going to be starting kindergarten on Sept. 6th. This is such an exciting time for her right now. We spent yesterday with my mom shopping. I have to say it was very nice having someone else with me so I could have someone to talk to. We spent way more time then I had planned on, but it was completely worth it. Kailenn got to pick out her backpack and a matching notebook to go with it. It was a painstaking process choosing the right one. She finally decided on iCarly. I have a feeling Matt's exact words are going to be "oh brother". I guess we will just have to wait and see!

I haven't been writing on my blog like I said I would. I just don't think about it anymore. I am done for the night though and will say good bye so I can put the babies to bed. Good night internet!

Naked baby

I took Danica's diaper off for a little air drying. I guess that was the perfect time for her to climb up the couch and look out the window. It was hilarious! Not only was she naked she was banging on the window almost trying to get people's attention. I decided it was the perfect momment for the embarrasing photo for later in life. Here it is my little naky Danica.

Hailey gets hurt!

We spent Saturday evening in the ER after poor Hailey had her infant car seat fall on her head. I had just switched out their car seats and had them stacked in the living room. Well that was a bad idea! They became off balance and the top when came down on top of poor Hailey's head. She immediatly had a dent on her head, freaked me out. I called in to see if it was a concern and was sent to the ER. After getting an X-ray because it's less radiation the doc sent us home and told us to keep and ear on her. Thank goodness everything was ok. I would'nt have gone in if it wouldn't have left a dent. My babies are always falling over from the sitting position bumping their heads. I loook bad in this picture, it was late and I was ready to go to bed.

Day 4 of Hand washing challenge!

Well we are still holding strong and sticking with it. Yesterday was pretty bad we almost ran out of diapers. They were all either dirty or wet. Drying in the house really doesn't work that well at all. I wish it wasn't raining and I could put them outside where they dry way faster. I got my free wipes in the mail the other day and yesterday was my first time using them and they are awesome. They are super cute too! So much better than having to find a place for all the disposable wipes when I use them, instead throw them in the load with the dipes. We have had a total of 4 poopy diapers since we started this challenge and I have to say I am glad they contain the mess. I guess I am lucky my girls don't dodo very often.
The real challenge is going to be this weekend. We are headed to the in-laws and I am going to bring my dipes with me. What a challenge that will be for sure. I am going to have to use her tub, hopefully she won't mind. I will defiantly be sure to blog about this weekend. I sadly won't be near a computer till Monday which is the end of the challenge so I will group the weekend together in one blog on Monday and share how I felt during the entire challenge this week. Well I am for some reason not able to upload a picture so there will be no pictures today. Darn! Had to come back and add one more thing. I need to buy some snappis, I just poked my finger again and its bleeding. I have never poked the babies because my hand is always on the back side well I don't want to be beat up anymore.

Day 3 of Flats challenge

So I washed another load of diapers in the tub yesterday morning. We had some sunshine all morning so I was able to hang them out to dry. Which btw is so much faster than in the house which takes over a day. We are doing great we haven't had any leaks and I have been using them all day and even through the night. My receiving blankets work better than the t-shirts but both work great. The babies don't seem to mind and I am saving money right now. I have to wash another load this morning and am worried about drying since the sun isn't out so I will have to dry them inside again. Almost forgot to mention we went out of the house for 3 hours and didn't have any leaks then either. Besides the challenge my house seems to be the same the babies are still screaming to entertain themselves and Kailenn is bored. During the babies nap yesterday we played with her ball outside and she had fun.
Also in the morning we went to her kindergarten round up that we almost didn't make it to. That morning my phone was ringing and I didn't know what for, I went and looked at it and it said round up. I freaked out cause at this point it was 9:45am and it started at 10:00am, we surprisingly only were 10 min late but still got to meet all the teachers and go outside for the picnic. Kailenn had so much fun playing. I don't remember what her teachers name is but he is male. That's all I know! Can't wait for my big girl to start kindergarten and begin her school future. I also can't believe how much that stinker has grown.
Off to do my 3rd diaper load!

Flats hand washing challenge!

So yesterday was the start of the flats hand washing challenge, I am really nervous about how this is going to turn out or if I will give up before the end. I guess if I would have been completely against it I wouldn't have decided to start! I am using old receiving blankets and old t-shirts for flat diapers because I don't own any and I want to show people that you don't have to spend very much money to diaper your children. The covers I am using are the cheap pull on plastic pants made by Gerber. You can get them from just about anywhere! I also am using cheap diaper pins. If you are interested in doing this with me the website is http://dirtydiaperlaundry.com/take-the-flats-and-handwashing-challenge-may-23-30/
Also to know just how to fold a receiving blanket into a diaper go here!

Times are changing

Well I am so glad to say things are getting better in the Martzall house. The babies are not screaming as much as they normally do which is wonderful considering I was tired of the daily headaches. Kailenn is playing outside almost everyday now, which is helping her to stay busy. The twins are already 8 months as of yesterday. The twins have learned to sit finally, it seemed like they were never going to sit by themselves. Well at least Danica sits Hailey still likes to slack and would rather be on her belly wondering around. Hailey is doing great with her crawling/scooting she goes all over the place while doing a army crawl. Danica does this too just she isn't as good as Hailey. They both keep getting on their hands and knees, so I am sure the end of the world in near.
So today is the day of the rapture apparently, I don't believe it otherwise why would I be posting here instead of freaking out. The rapture is supposed to happen when no one expects it. Obviously that wouldn't be today. Well if I don't write again I was wrong so see you in another life!

Where it get interesting

I wanted to start this at the beginning of the year but never got to it with the moving and not having internet for three months but here it is. Theres a lot that I didn't get to write and really wish I could have. Kailenn is going to be six this year and that in its self is a scary thing to me. The twins are seven months old already, where did the time go? I know I've missed out on a ton of writing but this point in my life is where it gets interesting. I will be writing about my everyday struggles as I journey through these years as a mother to three girls. I will write my first blog tomorrow, today is just a little info to get you set in.
